MONDAY INSPIRATION 🚗
On the road again...
As you read this, I’m on the road to Logan, Utah!
My son Eric is spending the summer performing with Utah Festival Opera, and today I’m making the drive from Denver with my beloved sister Louise and Eric’s boyfriend Nate. It’s a long journey across some truly breathtaking country, and it has given me plenty of time to gaze out the window and appreciate the beauty of the American West.
There’s something about wide-open spaces that puts life into perspective. The rolling hills, distant mountains, endless skies, and winding highways remind me that the world is much bigger—and often much more beautiful—than whatever worries I happen to be carrying with me.
As I watched the landscape unfold mile after mile, I was reminded of a quote from John Muir:
“The mountains are calling and I must go.”
Though Muir was writing about the wilderness, I think his words speak to something deeper. Sometimes we’re called not just to a place, but to an experience. To an adventure. To a reunion with people we love. To step away from our routines and see the world through fresh eyes.
Travel has a wonderful way of doing that. It reminds us that there are still new roads to discover, new memories to make, and new perspectives waiting just around the bend.
So this week, whether you’re crossing state lines or simply taking a different path through your daily routine, I hope you’ll answer whatever is calling you. Follow your curiosity. Appreciate the beauty around you. And don’t forget to look up every now and then—the view might be spectacular.
Wishing you a week filled with wonder, safe travels, and beautiful horizons.
