Summer is Moving Along!

Dear Readers,

Can you believe we’re already nearing the end of July? Summer always seems to race by. One minute we’re welcoming the season, and the next we’re wondering where all the long days have gone.

Maybe that’s why I love this time of year. It gently reminds us to slow down.

There’s a wonderful quote by Ferris Bueller (yes, from the movie!) that has become a bit of modern wisdom:

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

We’re often so focused on what’s coming next that we forget to enjoy what’s happening right now. A good book on the porch. Ice cream with the grandkids (I just had a lot of that while my grandson was in town last week!) Dinner with friends. A spectacular sunset. These aren’t interruptions to life—they are life.

So this week, I hope you’ll carve out a little time to simply enjoy the season. Put the phone down for a while. Take a walk after dinner. Read one more chapter. Watch the fireflies come out.

The little moments have a way of becoming the ones we treasure most.
